Jose L Piedra Petit Cazadores (105mm x Ring43)
This is a slightly unusual range of cigars, because the leaf is grown exclusively, not in the Vuelta Abajo region, but in the Vuelta Arriba region of Cuba (Remedios area) where cigar leaf has been grown since the 16th century. The Habanos website tells us that these are made using the Tripa Corta Totalmente a Mano technique – totally by hand, but from shorter filler leaf – easier to blend and to handle. This provides an easier and more consistent burning rate, a perfect budget Cuban cigar. The Petit Cazadores is slightly longer and thicker than the classic half corona, very easy-smoking, which probably contributes to its popularity.
Savour the taste of pure Cuban tobacco for around 25 minutes.
Quorum Short Robusto – (89mm x Ring 50)
From J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Founded in 1895 this company also manufactures such quality cigars as Diamond Crown and Cuesta Ray. Quorum is a quality cigar packed in bundles at an extremely affordable price. Manufactured in Nicaragua, a country known for rich soil producing some of the world’s heartiest, full-bodied tobacco. The filler is a blend of Nicaraguan leaf packed “Cuban Sandwich” fashion, that is long and short filler leaves together – very cost-saving. The binder is from Nicaragua, and the wrapper is sun-grown Ecuador Sumatra.
Quorum cigars are said to be “the number one selling handmade imported bundled cigar in the world” One out of seven cigars exported from Nicaragua every year is a Quorum cigar.
30-35 minutes should give you enough time to slowly assess the rich taste and easy burn of this Nicaraguan cigar.
Macanudo Cafe Ascots (81mm x Ring 32)
This is a mild-bodied cigarillo, made with the same aged Connecticut Shade wrapper and rigid standards as the Macanudo large cigars. The result is the distinctively smooth yet complex character Macanudo is known for.
These small cigars have a filler of Dominican and Mexican tobaccos, a Mexican binder and a golden wrapper of Connecticut Shade leaf. Connecticut wrapped cigars have been appreciated ever since they were first introduced. A highly prized leaf, offering a smooth, mild and creamy smoke. Especially suitable for a new smoker, or earlier in the day for an experienced smoker. Review: “Once lit, the Macanudo Café Ascot greets you with a soft, creamy profile layered with cedar, toasted nuts, and just a touch of baking spice. “
You can enjoy the mild, creamy taste for a relaxing 15 minutes.
